ABSTRACT
This talk discusses the mechanisms and applications of luminescent temperature sensing, with a particular focus on the use of upconversion luminescence in biomedical diagnostics and photodynamic therapy. Specific application examples are presented using fluorescent materials such as Y₂O₃, YAG, LaAlO₃ doped with Yb³⁺ and Tm³⁺, as well as Er³⁺–Yb³⁺ co-doped NaY(MoO₄)₂.
